Most of us have been trying to find every way possible to find the cheapest almost free route into everything that we do. It is not because we are cheap but because we have financial goals and without taking some precautions to meet them, we may never have what we truly want.
Coupons are there for us to use. The grocery stores put coupons in newspapers and magazines so that people can use them for their benefit. If you were to use coupons when you go grocery shopping, you could be saving a lot of money on your grocery bill.
Most major cities will have a Sunday paper that will have a lot of sales and coupons in them. I will usually start my Sunday off by purchasing a Sunday paper and then writing down my grocery list. You will be surprised at all of the deals that you can get by shopping around. I shop within a ten mile radius so that I am not spending a lot of gas or time shopping. I find all of the coupons or in store deals that they may have and see if they are having sales on items that are on my list.
I also look for stores that offer double coupon days. These stores are great to shop when you have coupons that are on your grocery list.
To make this work, you need to have a lot of patience and time. In then end it will be worth it. I do not purchase items that my family does not normally eat because this would lose the entire point of trying to save.
If you do not like to cut out coupons then consider buying in bulk. This works well for all family sizes. If you buy in bulk, you will usually get a better deal or discount and you can always freeze and use the product later. I would not consider doing this unless you have the extra freezer and storage space.
I once had a friend who bought in bulk but when she got home and discovered that she didn't have to storage space, she only had a couple of choices, either let the food go bad or give it away, luckily I was nice enough to let her use some of my freezer space.
Don't get overwhelmed when you are going grocery shopping. Just remember that you can always save money if you shop smart and take advantage of those everyday sales that grocery stores have for you. Keep an eye out for special saving offers that Wal-mart and your neighborhood markets may have.
