Life Lessons; Success Principles & Lessons Learned from Linkedln’s “If I were 22”

Every once in a while I come across a book that makes me think; it makes me ponder on all the things that I have done with my life and how I could make it better.  Life Lessons; Success principles & Lessons Learned from Linkedln's "If I Were 22": Crucial Career Advice, Personal Development, and Success Principles from Key Influencers is a book based off of what we wish we would have done with our lives and what we could do now to change it. This book leads off with quotes from important people in business such as, Jonathan Bush – CEO and co-founder of Athena health. It talks in a way that anyone can understand it; the struggles of life and how important that it may be for you to not follow in the same career path as your relatives or friends; finding your own career path, according to the author, is much more important since you will enjoy it and it can bring happiness into your life. It explains how money does not define you instead, you define your money. This book ...

Stewart Gallery Leaves a Lasting Impression

This gallery's simple and straight-forward character, its plain black background, simple text format and easy navigation, quickly directs its audience's eyes to where it should be - the artworks themselves. Brilliant colors and forms with curious detail advance forth from a dark, uncluttered plane. The Stewart Gallery  is a collection of artworks, by J.M. Stewart and Alan Stewart, that generally captures its subjects' raw aesthetic qualities, through passionate execution of various art styles. Most of these pieces give off a sense of serenity, a quality that probably owes itself to stunning views on the Great Smoky Mountains landscape that lent inspiration to the Stewarts. This, and a genuine appreciation for the visual arts that was seeded since childhood. Palette knife is another one of the techniques that the artist use. This method of painting uses a  palette knife  in place of a paint brush. Paint is then directly applied onto canvas to create strokes and textures th...

Writing Articles for Pennies Until You Get Somewhere

Normally I don't like working for pennies but in this case, I figure working for pennies will help me make more money in the long run. I need money fast. I am willing to swallow my pride for a while and start pinching wherever I can to create a substantial amount of income. I started working for iwriter a while back but only wrote a few article for them because it didn't seem worth the pay to write a 500 word article and make less than $3. Well, this is to being with. Once you increase your productivity and show that you are a top notch writer, your pay can increase. The system is set up so that you can choose what you want to write based off of what they are needing written at the time; you write your articles, submit them, then you wait for them to reply back and approve or deny you. For the most part, they usually will approve you but every once in a while you get stuck with an arrogant butt wipe that doesn't approve anyone. Anyways, I will be going more into debt...

Ping Services; Top Pinging Services

I thought I would spread the love of a long pinging service list for all of you to ping your blogs. Now, there have been a lot of controversy over rather or not pinging so many services were good or bad. This is still really unclear. Some say that if you ping too many services it can hurt your blog by making it look like spam, others say that it can cause your website to slow down, some say that it is okay to ping all the services, it might slow your website down but it will still help you get traffic. I would really love your thoughts on pinging services. I want to know what experiments you have used to voice your concerns over pinging your blog. I am going to try a few of these and see how it does. My goal is to create a massive list of pinging services and so far I have come up with this list. I will add more as I find them. I am hoping that I haven’t added them more than once. If you have a favorite pinging service or top pinging service list, please let me know so I can check it o...

Earning with Bubblews

I have heard a lot of bad things about Bubblews . I use to love to write for them and I still do every now and again. One review that I had seen was from a dear friend who had gotten kicked off of their site for unknown reasons, another review was from another friend who said that the pay system was really messed up but she still got paid, it just took longer than they state. Well, I have been writing for them for a while now. I don’t write there frequently though. You are allowed to post ten articles or post a day. I don’t take full advantage of this though; I am lucky if I post one a week. Anyways, this is my current pay scale that I have. I need to reach $50 before I can withdraw this into my PayPal account and right now I am at $46. I will keep you updated on my progress with them. Please let me know how your experience has been so far.

Fiverr Weekly Earnings 1/3/2015

Last week I talked about my earnings from Fiverr and how I was starting to make a little bit of money from there. I have been working diligently to make a decent income from their website. So far I am actually doing very well. I have received a payment in PayPal, which you can withdraw as soon as it is cleared on Fiverr. I am amazed at how quickly I am starting to make an income from them. The work that you can choose isn't really limited. On average, since starting there, I have earned about $20-$30 a day. This isn't too bad for someone who just became a level 1 seller on their website within a month. This also isn't bad for someone who only has a few gigs on their site as well. If you start selling gigs, you are going to need to play around with it a little while before you really learn to make an income; this might mean deleting gigs, suspending them ,and editing them until you figure out what works for you. I recently made it to level 1 of fiverr. I am super exci...

Here Comes the Boom

I rented  Here Comes the Boom   at the only  RedBox  that my tiny little town has. I had heard great things about this 2012 movie and wanted to see for myself. The movie is set in a school which is about to lose their music program and music teacher due to funding cuts. A biology teacher, Kevin James, decides that he will do whatever it takes to bring the music program back and to save one of his fellow teachers and best friend's job. The biology teacher decides that he is going to take up kickboxing to raise the money needed for the music program. He has been teaching a class to non-citizens on how to become a citizen and that were he meets his would-be trainer. He blackmails this trainer into teaching him how to fight in Here Comes the Boom. He makes a trade, fighting lessons for citizen lessons. The first few fights, Kevin James, loses his rear but he never give up; his "children" are too special for that. He keeps going until he reaches the ultimate fi...

How Not to Hurry

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”   ~ Lao Tzu Consider the above quote from Lao Tzu, (perhaps mythical) father of Taoism: how can it be true? Is it possible not to hurry, but to get everything done? It seems contradictory to our modern world, where everything is a rush an everyone seems to not know how to not hurry, where we try to cram as much into every minute of the day as possible, where if we are not busy, we feel unproductive and lazy. This is why we need to learn how not to hurry. In fact, often we compete by trying to show how busy we are. I have a thousand projects to do! Oh yeah? I have 10,000! The winner is the person who has the most insane schedule, who rushes from one thing to the next with the energy of a hummingbird, because obviously that means he’s the most successful and important. So, if we know how to not to hurry, then would this make us insane? Right? Maybe not. Maybe we’re playing the wrong game — we’ve been conditioned to belie...

How to Clear Your Inbox When you’re Drowning: Email Sanity

The beauty of an empty inbox is a thing to behold. It is calming, peaceful and wonderful. See how you can clear your inbox and stop drowning in emails. An inbox that is overflowing with actions, urgent calls for responses, stuff to read … it’s chaos, it’s stressful, it’s overwhelming. I know you don’t like to clear your inbox but, once you do you will be much less stressed. A friend recently posted: “Help! I’m drowning in email!” Let’s look at how to get your head above water first, and then how to get safely to dry land after you clear you inbox. Head Above Water You need to give yourself some breathing room. De-cluttering your life also means to  declutter  your email inbox. A flooded inbox is overwhelming, and you don’t know where to start. So here’s where we’re going to start: 1. Create an “actions” folder or label in your email . This is where you’re going to store any emails that you need to take action on (other than just replying or filing or whatever). 2. Pick th...

Setting Goals: The Best Goal is No Goal

“With the past, I have nothing to do; nor with the future. I live now.”  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson The idea of having concrete, achievable goals seem deeply ingrained in our culture. I know I lived with setting goals for many years, and in fact a big part of my writings. These days, however, I live without goals, for the most part. It’s absolutely liberating, and contrary to what you might believe, it absolutely doesn’t mean you stop achieving things. It means you stop letting yourself be limited by goals. Consider this common belief: “You’ll never get anywhere unless you know where you’re going.” This seems so common sensical, and yet its obviously not true if you stop to think about it. Conduct a simple experiment: go outside and walk in a random direction, and feel free to change directions randomly. After 20 minutes, an hour … you’ll be somewhere! It’s just that you didn’t know you were going to end up there. And there’s the rub: you have to open your mind to going places you never ...
