Self-Discipline; it's an art that we all must learn

"You must do the things you think you cannot do." - Eleanor Roosevelt.  This quote is one of the many quotes that I find inspiration in. If you stop and think about what it means, you will figure out that it is telling you to do all the things that you want to do in life even if you do not think that you can do them. If you want real inspiration, continue reading.    There was a time in my life when I did not think that I could accomplish anything. I did not have the moral support that I needed or the friends and family to push me to succeed. I failed at everything that I did, but it was not because I was dumb or ignorant, it was because I gave up too easily.    I would find something that I liked, but I would never complete them. I was too stubborn to take the advice of anyone that I knew, so I just continued in my own path. That very path is what lead me to this article.    I was stubborn, hard headed, and maybe even a little too relaxed when it came...

Clarity of Your Thoughts

It had been a long time since I wrote a short story. I use to write all the time, especially for my kids. I thought it was going to be something that I could easily pick up, kind of like riding a bike right? Yeah, that's right. It is more complicated than this. Sure, the thoughts were there, my will power had diminished, so why was it so difficult for me to write?    My thoughts were all over the place. It was as though my thoughts were coming at me faster than my hands could type. It wasn't like it was back in the good ole days when people used pen and paper and you kind of had no choice but to slow down. Nope, this was putting fingers to keyboard and the words weren't being put down like I had wanted them to be.    I took a second to look back at my work and I was disgusted. I had actually written that? I must be tired, hungry, or something. Nothing made sense.    During all of this all I could think of was, boy I sure am glad that I didn't publish this b...

Creating Controversy in an Article

The best article that I had written, and ended up getting the most page views, was in an article I wrote about kids getting tattoos.    I learned a long time ago that if you can create chaos, so to speak, on the internet and get people stirred up, they are likely to share your content and give you feedback after feedback. It didn’t matter if the feedback was negative or positive, the publicity was great.    This might seem a little odd to you, but it’s what makes or breaks most writers on the internet. I was never really any good at keyword stuffing or keeping up with html or any of that other jargon. I had to do something, my wallet was suffering and I had posted article after article with no response.    After my little stint I realized something that internet marketing gurus had been preaching all along, there is nothing wrong with creating a controversy as long as it is something that you believe in and you are willing to back it 100%.    The ...

Decision Making in Times of Stress

Decision making in times of stress is what a lot of us would call a fight or flight decision. Sometimes you may not make the best decision and it could leave you crippling in fear or cause you to lose a lot more than you intended to.    For instance; Rhonda often found herself trying to make decisions while she was stressed, and at the time it seemed like her decisions were the best for her. She would later realize, like many of us do, that the decisions she made weren't the best options but at the time, she didn't feel that she had much of an option so she took that risk.   If you find yourself in a stressful environment and you need to make an on the spot decision, please read through these tips and use them to your advantage.    Look at the highs and lows of the outcome   Before you leap to a decision, ask yourself what the outcome might be. What are likely to gain or lose from the situation? Is it going to be one that you might regret? Don't jump to t...
