"You must do the things you think you cannot do." - Eleanor Roosevelt. This quote is one of the many quotes that I find inspiration in. If you stop and think about what it means, you will figure out that it is telling you to do all the things that you want to do in life even if you do not think that you can do them. If you want real inspiration, continue reading.
There was a time in my life when I did not think that I could accomplish anything. I did not have the moral support that I needed or the friends and family to push me to succeed. I failed at everything that I did, but it was not because I was dumb or ignorant, it was because I gave up too easily.
I would find something that I liked, but I would never complete them. I was too stubborn to take the advice of anyone that I knew, so I just continued in my own path. That very path is what lead me to this article.
I was stubborn, hard headed, and maybe even a little too relaxed when it came to my self-discipline. I was one of those people that you would see always trying out something new, but never sticking to it. I was good at procrastinating until the project just never got finished.
One day a friend asked me why I never completed any task. My response was, I just simply got bored too easily. He replied by saying that I had no self-discipline. What? I had plenty of self-discipline, didn't I? I started thinking more about the subject and realized that he was right; I had no self-discipline. I never finished anything. I did not do the things that I thought I could not do.
There were plenty of things that I wanted to do. I wanted to create a store from home selling craft items, I wanted to have that nice slender body, I wanted to finish college, I wanted to do a lot of things but why did I not finish them? The answer was simple; I did not finish them because I did not think I could finish them.
I decided that day that I would make a list, because I always made list, and I would write down exactly what I wanted to do but didn't think I could, a bucket list if you will. I created this list and went to work. I chose the most easiest things on my list to do first and I started marking them off one by one until my list became shorter and shorter. I didn't stop there though; I kept building onto this list. I created a powerful list; a list of my goals. I was happy.
Until you realize that you are not challenging yourself, or until you realize that you don't have the self-discipline that it takes to finish your task, you will never complete anything that you want to do but are too afraid of doing.
Make your bucket list. Create a list and get to work and don't ever stop. We can never stop learning. Reach out to your full potential and keep building yourself up. Complete your list. Learn to have the self-discipline that you need and never stop doing the things that you want or need to do.
