Every once in a while I come across a book that makes me think; it makes me ponder on all the things that I have done with my life and how I could make it better.

Life Lessons; Success principles & Lessons Learned from Linkedln's "If I Were 22": Crucial Career Advice, Personal Development, and Success Principles from Key Influencers
is a book based off of what we wish we would have done with our lives and what we could do now to change it. This book leads off with quotes from important people in business such as, Jonathan Bush – CEO and co-founder of Athena health. It talks in a way that anyone can understand it; the struggles of life and how important that it may be for you to not follow in the same career path as your relatives or friends; finding your own career path, according to the author, is much more important since you will enjoy it and it can bring happiness into your life. It explains how money does not define you instead, you define your money. This book is geared towards twenty year olds starting out in life but, as a thirty year old I still found help by reading it.
Be who you want to be and do what you want to do, that is where your true success lies!
Geoffreys, Clayton (2014-09-03).
The book goes on to talk about how important it is to build a successful relationship with your peers instead of your superiors; this was an important lesson for me to learn, even as a thirty year old, I now understand that building a successful future with people who will one day be at the top is much more important than, becoming friends with those who have already made it. People who are struggling in their careers, often remember those who helped them along the way; this was a key point for me to remember.
Have you ever seen those popular girls in school and noticed how much they hang out as adults? Now, take a look at the ones that were the nerd of your generation; these are the ones that tend to still do things together.
When I was growing up, I was not the popular kid, I was not the nerd either. I was considered the middle class of students; I could swing between the popular kids and the, not so popular kids. Nowadays, in my thirties, it is the lower class and the middle class students who still hang out with one another; the popular kids are the ones who ended up leaving everything behind to pursue dreams that never came about but, because they left their friends behind, they didn't climb the corporate ladder to success. I believe that this was the same principle that the author was talking about when he said that it is more important to build relationships with your peers.
The networks and connections you make in your early twenties are the solid foundation on which you build your future.
Geoffreys, Clayton (2014-09-03).
The author tells about how sticking it out in your dreams is what will get you to the top. This was another fine point for me to follow if I wanted to make sure that I made me dreams and career come true. I also loved how he exclaimed that making it to the top, means that you have to leave all the negativity behind you; jumping all in was the road to success.
I am a list maker and believe it or not, this book also talked about making list. A person who was becoming more successful would keep list of things that worked and those that didn't. This made complete since to me after reading this; how was I going to keep track of what worked and what didn't if I didn't figure out a way to stick with it and ditch the ones that didn't work or find a way to improve on it? This book for twenty year olds to build their way to the top of the career ladder, had laid out a simple formula for me to use to help me overcome my career problems, and it was right in chapter 1 part 7 of the book.
This book is about taking chances and doing what you can to be the best person you can be, and using your experiences and the experiences of others to become more proficient in life and your career. I can honestly say that I was amazed how well this book was put together. The author did a lot of research on career advancement, advice, self-development, and what makes someone better at their job. Kuddos to you mister author. Wonderful job.
