I was in the middle of writing a novel for the National November Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) when something hit me; I have a tendency of trying to get things done in a hurry and, needing the money like I do, I kept drifting off writing other things and placing my novel on the back burner.
I came up with an idea, an idea that many of you could use to help make extra money while you are waiting to complete your novel. What would happen if we broke our novel down into many short stories?
Think about it for a second; if we broke the novel down into short stories to sell and then bundled them to create a novel. I am a freaking genius! I like to think so at least.
So, here is my plan and you can use it as well.

I will write one short story a day; the short story much be at least the minimum to complete the 50,000 words that is required by the National November Writing Month website (NaNoWriMo) and once I am finished, I should have enough short stories that are already in the market and I should be able to compile them to create a novel as well.
This takes time
Writing to make money takes time, and trust me, I know this. There is the first draft, second draft, third draft, and so forth, and then the editing portion. It takes a lot of work to finish a book but if we break it down into smaller sections then we can possibly make money while we are waiting for the novel to be complete.
What is your take on this?
I’m curious, I’m a writer so it happens, what is your take on this? Is it something that you have thought of, is it something that you have done, or is it something that you are going to do? Let me know because I would love to know how yours played out.
