Personal Stories Speech Ideas; How My Personal Story Helped In a Classroom

Telling personal stories while trying to teach a class can make you feel vulnerable, especially if you are like me and don’t like to talk about your past or the people that helped to create that past. I was told to do a class on heat and cold injuries in front of my peers. I was informed of this a month ago. I am a procrastinator, this is what I am and I am not proud of it. So, like most people who procrastinate, I put it off until the very last minute and then ran myself crazy trying to put it together. Death by PowerPoint; this is was not my intentions at all. I was originally told that I could get up in front of the class and do it but, a few days before the class I was informed that it had to be a power point. I freaked! I freaked because I had no earthly idea on how to even get started, I freaked because I hadn’t even studied on the class, I freaked because I was going to be put to shame in front of all of my peers. It was going to be a wreck and I felt like I had no control...

Memories, Panic Attacks, and Possibly a Girl Being Eaten By a Wolf

Some of you might find this humorous; I find it rather irritating but nonetheless, I am going to write about it to get it off my chest. Ironically; this was something that this guy, who this story is based off of, told me to do. He always said that I bottle things up until I finally exploded. Well, today was one of those days when I finally exploded and I exploded to the max. I traveled from Kellyville, Oklahoma to Bixby, Oklahoma to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and then to Stillwater, Oklahoma which is where this story took place. I was already tired from all the traveling and the lack of sleep I got the night before. I had planned on meeting this guy, my ex, earlier but he decided to sleep in late so he missed my text so I drove to Oklahoma City, bypassing Stillwater, just to turn around and have to drive all the way back out to Stillwater to meet him. I pull up and he is working on his car, and I must say that he looked rather hot but then again, I do like a guy when he has been wo...

Turn Your Novel into Short Stories

By:   smittenkittenorig   –   CC BY 2.0 I was in the middle of writing a novel for the  National November Writing Month  (NaNoWriMo) when something hit me; I have a tendency of trying to get things done in a hurry and, needing the money like I do, I kept drifting off writing other things and placing my novel on the back burner. I came up with an idea, an idea that many of you could use to help make extra money while you are waiting to complete your novel. What would happen if we broke our novel down into many short stories? Think about it for a second; if we broke the novel down into short stories to sell and then bundled them to create a novel. I am a freaking genius! I like to think so at least. So, here is my plan and you can use it as well. Your ads will be inserted here by Easy AdSense Pro . Go Back Home Writer, You're Drunk!

I will be the first to admit I write articles as fast as I can to get them published. I will also admit, I may have skipped over the editing portion a time or two during my writing career.    The first article I had  wrote for an online company was on writing. I was asked by Associated Content to write a piece on the different styles of writing. I was about to miss the time frame so I skipped over editing and went straight to the review process.    Now, if you have ever written for Associated Content or Yahoo! Contributor Network, you know that they go through an editor before they ever publish anything. Well, either this editor was in a hurry or he didn't exactly know how to edit. The article was amazing; it flowed well, it grabbed the readers attention, it was almost the perfect article except one thing; the title was misspelled.   I didn't realize the title had been misspelled until I had a flood of comments, embarrassing commen...
