One way to deal with stress is to figure out what is stressing you in your life. I deal with stress on the daily and it tends to keep me on my toes. Stress comes in all forms, but is often triggered by our own emotions. These are just a few tips that I have found that have helped me to deal with stress. Take what you need to from this little tidbit and put it to good use and deal with your stress instead of letting it deal with you.
What triggers your stress?
Learn to identify your stress. If you need to, jot down all the horrible things that have crossed paths with you today and how you dealt with it. If you are like me, full of bad luck, then you may need to just carry around a notebook and pen everywhere you go.
Identify your emotions
Emotions aren't just bad emotions; there are good emotions too. Learn to recognize your good and bad emotions and what was happening during this time. If you are having positive emotions then try to hang onto that feeling; if you are having negative emotions, see if these negative feelings are even relevant to you and your daily life.
Internally distance yourself from negative emotions
We all have negative emotions from time to time. I am even guilty of letting these negative emotions trump my day when I knew that I should have just let distance myself internally from them. Try to think of positive things and work your way towards these things. If they keep popping up in your head, think of something different or try something such as writing, reading a book, or watching a favorite show.
Avoid negative sensationalism and negative news to help you deal with stress
There is bad news everywhere. I can go to the store and hear someone talking about the bad things in their lives and all I think is, that is truly relatable. Well, stop it. Why would you want to relate your life to someone else's life when they seem to have nothing but negative energy around them? Avoid situations that great negative energy. This doesn't mean for you to avoid all situations because this would be near impossible, just distance yourself from the negative energy.
When all else fails
If dealing with stress has got you down just smile. Smiling for 60 seconds has been proven to relieve stress. I started doing this after reading an article on it and it has significantly helped me to deal with stress and to relieve stress
