The Strength to Carry On will pay for personal stories. According to their TOS, they love personal stories and will pay $1.50 per 1,000 page views. If you’re dying to get something off of your chest and have a personal story to tell, tell it here and get paid for your writing.
The personal stories is what originally caught my attention, since I have a lot of stories built up and no one to tell them to. I started writing for The Strength to Carry On and I love some of the personal stories on here. I’m still having trouble believing that I am getting paid to tell my personal stories among other things.
Why share personal stories:
Personal stories are often left bottled up and can eventually cause us to become overwhelmed with them. When we tell people our personal stories, it helps because we get to know that others out there that have been through the same things as us, that we are not alone.
The most difficult part of telling a personal story
I had trouble telling my personal story on The Strength to Carry On, mainly because I felt that people were going to judge me, and that they were going to laugh at me, or criticize what I had to say. To my surprise, everyone that commented had told me that they wish that they had the strength that I had to relay my story and message. The people at The Strength to Carry On, do not judge you and that’s just another reason that I love to write for them.
Should you get paid to tell your personal story?
I do believe that we should. If our personal story is going to help someone and this is the only good that is coming out of it, then why shouldn’t we get paid? There are a lot of people out here that constantly tell us that we are only seeking attention with our personal stories, but this isn’t the case at all, we aren’t seeking attention, we are seeking comfort and help. Getting paid for our personal story is a good thing in my opinion.
The drawbacks of telling a personal story
I do have to say that there are a few drawbacks from telling a personal story. A person might get criticized by those across the internet. It is actually better to go under another name if you are afraid of this happening.
If you have a personal story, go ahead and share it with us. I know I would love to hear about it and know that I’m not alone.
